The United States appreciates your cooperation in promoting maritime security in the Indian Ocean. Your leadership makes the region safer and promotes peace and stability that benefits all of Africa. I also commend your efforts to develop and maintain a sustainable ocean economy. Conservation will ensure our natural resources endure for years to come, while providing economic opportunities for Seychellois and others who rely on the sea for their livelihoods. The United States wishes Seychelles continued hope and prosperity as you celebrate your national day. I look forward to our continued cooperation in the year ahead.
