Press Releases: Special Representative Stetson Travel to Milan, Italy 05/18/2015 02:38 PM EDT Special Representative Stetson Travel to Milan, Italy Media Note Office of the Spokesperson Washington, DC May 18, 2015 Special Representative for Global Food Security Nancy Stetson will travel to Milan, Italy, May 18–21.   On May 19, Special Representative Stetson will speak at the launch of the Economist Intelligence Unit’s Global Food Security Index sponsored by DuPont. On May 20, Special Representative Stetson will visit the USA Pavilion at the Milan Expo and participate in food security events.  The theme of the Expo is “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life” and the USA Pavilion—with the theme, “American Food 2.0: United to Feed the Planet”—will highlight America’s culinary traditions and our efforts to promote food security and nutrition domestically and globally. Special Representative Stetson will also meet with members of civil society, business, and academia in Milan.  Her discussions will focus on the challenges of ensuring food security and nutrition in rural areas and, as urbanization increases, in cities.  Follow the Office of Global Food Security on Twitter @StateDeptGFS.
