Secretary Kerry To Deliver Remarks on the Trans-Pacific Partnership at Boeing Company's 737 Airplane Factory

Notice to the Press
Office of the Spokesperson
Washington, DC
May 18, 2015

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry will visit the Seattle area, a gateway for the continental United States to the Pacific region, to deliver a speech to both a domestic and international audience about the strategic and economic importance of trade.

The remarks will be at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19, at the Boeing Co.'s 737 airplane factory in Renton, Washington.

The Secretary will address the importance of open markets, high standards, and a rules-based economic partnership with the Asia-Pacific region, built around the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).

‎Trade agreements like the TPP support the American economy and job creation by expanding U.S. access to the fastest growing and most dynamic region on the planet.

‎In 2014, exports supported 11.7 million U.S. jobs, demonstrating that the world wants what America is selling.‎

Secretary Kerry’s remarks will be open to the press.
