Special Representative for North Korea Policy Ambassador Sung Kim will travel to Seoul, the Republic of Korea and Beijing, China, May 25–29, for meetings with senior officials on North Korea policy. These will include a trilateral meeting in Seoul between the United States, the Republic of Korea (ROK), and Japan. Ambassador Kim will be accompanied by Special Envoy for the Six-Party Talks Sydney Seiler, and National Security Council Director for Korea Allison Hooker. Ambassador Kim will be in Seoul, May 26–27, for a trilateral meeting with Japanese Director General for Asian and Oceanian Affairs Junichi Ihara and ROK Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Affairs Hwang Joon-kook. He will also hold bilateral meetings with both Director General Ihara and Special Representative Hwang. He will then travel to Beijing on May 28 for meetings with senior Chinese Government officials, including Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Affairs Wu Dawei. Ambassador Kim will return to Washington, D.C. on May 29. |
