Press Releases: The United States Condemns the Terrorist Attacks in Egypt 01/29/2015 05:44 PM EST The United States Condemns the Terrorist Attacks in Egypt Press Statement Jen Psaki Department Spokesperson Washington, DC January 29, 2015 The United States strongly condemns today’s terrorist attacks in Egypt’s North Sinai Governorate in which at least twenty nine Egyptian citizens were killed and dozens others wounded. We express our sincere condolences to the victims, their families, and the government and people of Egypt. A prosperous and strong Egypt requires an environment of security and stability, and the United States remains steadfast in its support of the Egyptian government’s efforts to combat the threat of terrorism in Egypt as part of our continuing commitment to the strategic partnership between our two countries.
