Press Releases: Special Presidential Envoy John Allen Travel to Belgium and Germany 12/01/2014 02:59 PM EST Special Presidential Envoy John Allen Travel to Belgium and Germany Media Note Office of the Spokesperson Washington, DC December 1, 2014 Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter ISIL John Allen and Deputy Special Presidential Envoy Brett McGurk will travel to Brussels, Belgium on December 1 to join Secretary Kerry for the first ministerial-level meeting of the Counter-ISIL Coalition. This Ministerial, which will take place on December 3, will bring together over sixty Coalition partners to discuss the political mechanism for our joint efforts to degrade and defeat ISIL. While in Brussels, General Allen and Ambassador McGurk will also hold a series of bilateral meetings and consultations with Coalition partners. On December 4, General Allen and Ambassador McGurk will travel to Berlin for bilateral meetings with German officials on our shared efforts to degrade and defeat ISIL.
