[wanabidii] William Ruto has busy first day in office as acting President

Wednesday, October 08, 2014
Good People,

Strange how twist and turn take effect on after-math of Uhuru's announcement.  Others get confused unbelieving what they hear
and see, others are lost for words, some baptize it as absconding
work and yet others see nothing but butterfly with unbelief.  With
Ruto, it is time to get down with work..........dispatching and
delegating as is necessary.............. Wonders of Kenya never
ceases............!!!!

Mr William Ruto began work as acting President on Tuesday by moving to Harambee House, where the Office of the President is.
Mr Ruto received routine intelligence briefings from the head of the National Intelligence Service, Mr Phillip Kameru, according to the diary prepared by the Head of Public Service, Mr Joseph Kinyua.
He first met Ms Grete Fareno, the executive director of the United Nations Office for Projects Services and later Mr Joseph ole Lenku, the Cabinet Secretary for the Interior and National Co-ordination.
Mr Ruto also sent Transport and Infrastructure Cabinet Secretary Michael Kamau to Wednesday's East African Community Summit in Kampala to be attended by President Paul Kagame of Rwanda and Uganda's Yoweri Museveni.

Mr Kamau will also represent Kenya in Thursday's Uganda independence celebrations.
In the course of the day, Mr Ruto also met Unesco officials led by Dr Evergiline Njoka.
The officials briefed him on preparations to celebrate 50 years of Unesco in Kenya.
On Wednesday, Mr Ruto will start his day at the Crowne Plaza, where he will be chief guest at a conference organised by the Ministry of Industrialisation.
On Tuesday, in a Facebook update, Mr Uhuru Kenyatta said that Mr Ruto was in charge of the State House page on the social media site.
And in a post appearing on one of the pages bearing his name, Mr Ruto thanked President Kenyatta for appointing him to the position.
In Nairobi, Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo, who is opposition whip in the National Assembly said the President's decision to appoint an acting president amounted to absconding duty.
By walking out of his office on Monday a civilian after signing a Gazette notice appointing Mr Ruto Acting President, Mr Kenyatta had resigned, he said.
"The President literally resigned. He misunderstood Article 147 which he quoted and signed his way out of power."
However, former Attorney-General Amos Wako said there was nothing unique in President Kenyatta's decision to temporarily hand over power to his deputy.
