On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States of America, I send my best wishes to the people of Vanuatu as you celebrate the thirty-fourth anniversary of your nation’s independence on July 30. Our two countries share a common commitment to democracy, rule of law, peace, and prosperity. We work closely with Vanuatu to advance women’s rights, promote peace and security, and protect fisheries and the environment while combating climate change.
