Mongolia is more than a mosaic of different cultures and communities. It is a model for countries undergoing democratic transitions. In the 24 years since Mongolia took its historic “decision for democracy,” the Mongolian people have made great progress in building a society that celebrates diversity, respects the rule of law, and upholds the universal rights and fundamental freedoms that make all nations stronger. By embracing these universal values, Mongolia has become a strong force for stability and a reliable partner. Our shared values and common interests will continue to unite our two governments and our two peoples. The United States looks forward to strengthening our partnership in the years to come.
