Ambassador William R. Brownfield, Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) will announce support for programs to counter wildlife crime during a keynote address to the Wildlife Criminology Symposium at the World Bank on Wednesday, April 23rd. Assistant Secretary Brownfield’s address will occur at 9:00 a.m. Press are welcome to attend. For more information or to RSVP, please contact INL-PAPD@state.gov or call 202-634-1162. Ambassador Brownfield will discuss efforts to implement President Obama’s National Strategy for Combating Wildlife Trafficking. The Department of State’s contributions include providing support to law-enforcement agencies in partner countries working on the front lines to combat poaching and cross-border wildlife trafficking. The Department of State-World Bank co-hosted Wildlife Criminology Symposium will bring together policy makers, NGOs, and academics to examine cutting edge research of academic criminologists and others regarding crime and law enforcement.
