Jacobson to Travel to Brazil and Paraguay Media Note Office of the Spokesperson Washington, DC March 14, 2014 Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Roberta S. Jacobson will travel to Brazil and Paraguay from March 17-21. The purpose of her trip is to meet with government, business, and civil society members in these partner countries. In both countries, Assistant Secretary Jacobson will meet with senior officials to discuss issues of mutual interest, including bilateral cooperation and regional concerns. In Brazil, the Assistant Secretary will highlight our commitment to expanding opportunities for educational exchanges and improving students’ readiness for entering the workforce. In Paraguay, the Assistant Secretary will amplify our shared values, including expanding bilateral trade, alleviating poverty and promoting education.
