[wanabidii] DOMESTIC Violence , should Men Be Seen As Abusers ?

Sunday, March 16, 2014
I just visited Tanzania and decided to investigate the alarming issue of domestic violence. It is my finding that in 95% of the cases that i witnessed, women contributed immensly to the physical outrage of their partners.Infact,in many cases that i listened to,the woman was the first person to get physical.

I have an only sister, you can imagine how much i love her,I dont support violence of any kind, but could we actually look deeper into a more realistic definition of domestic abuse in terms of roles played by each spouse.

In one of the cases that i personally intervened, the wife had a quarrel with the husband and in a bid to spite her husband, she called him useless infront of her children and her sister and actually said to the kids not to be like their useless father.Take it or leave it,this is an emotional abuse of the highest level. When this man raised his voice to his siter inlaw to advice his wife, she(the man's wife) actually stood up to him, chest to chest asking him what he could do about it.It was at this point that the man gave her the 8th wonder of the world slap and I SUPPORT THAT.

My opinion is that there should be a clearer definition of domestic abuse which should cover in gross proportion, the level of verbal and emotional abuse also suffered by men in our society.

Pls when a woman complains that she is being beaten by her spouse, could you pls ask why before jumping into conclusion.
