Study Subject(s): Scholarships are awarded in any aspect of the Energy and Environment theme within the University. However, proposals are sought particularly in the following areas: Agri-technology, reforestation and ecosystem services, Biofuels, biomass and energy from waste, Renewable energy technologies e.g. photovoltaics and wind/tidal turbine design and Carbon capture materials and power plant studies, carbon dioxide utilisation.

Eligibility: -Applicants will be expected to hold a minimum of a UK upper second class Honours degree, or equivalent, in an appropriate discipline. -To be eligible for these awards, applicants must demonstrate in their proposal that their research draws upon insights from more than one discipline. Supervision will be provided jointly by a minimum of two researchers from different disciplines.

Scholarship Description: To celebrate the University's research successes, the University of Hull is offering 20 full-time UK/EU PhD Scholarship or International Fees Bursaries for candidates applying for the areas within the Research Themes.
Full-time UK/EU PhD Scholarship will include fees at the 'home/EU' student rate and maintenance (£13,726 in 2014/15), subject to final confirmation) for three years, depending on satisfactory progress.
Full-time International Fee PhD Studentships will include full fees at the International student rate for three years, dependent on satisfactory progress but no maintenance.
