Senate Public Hearing on NFIA Bill: What Implications?

On Friday, November 29, 2013, stakeholders shall assemble at the Nigeria's National Assembly Complex, Abuja, to discuss, review and brainstorm on the merit or otherwise of the Bill for the establishment of the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Agency (NFIA), otherwise referred to as public hearing.

The Bill which has 43 sections and 10 parts seeks to establish the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Agency as the central body in Nigeria responsible for receiving, requesting, analysing and disseminating financial and other related information to all law enforcement, security agencies and other relevant authorities, as well as exchange of intelligence with over 139 FIUs globally.
