[wanabidii] Humanitarian Compendium 2013

Tuesday, September 03, 2013

The International Organization for Migration's (IOM) Humanitarian Compendium 2013 is a summary of IOM's response to humanitarian emergencies around the world. Scan through the document to know more about IOM's work in shelter, non-food items, camp coordination and camp management, transport, health and other crucial programmes in emergency settings.

IOM's emergency response activities are coordinated with United Nations country teams. The IOM Migration Crisis Operational Framework (MCOF), approved by the IOM Council last year, provides overall strategic guidance and places IOM's response to humanitarian emergencies in a comprehensive and systematic context.

In 2013, IOM's humanitarian activities will continue to assist vulnerable populations, internally displaced persons (IDPs) and refugees in Afghanistan, Chad, Djibouti, DRC, Haiti, Kenya, Mali, Niger, Pakistan, the Philippines, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Yemen, Zimbabwe as well as Syria and its neighbouring countries.
