- Head of anti-narcotics police unit Hamisi Massa said further tests on the drugs would be conducted by the government chemist before the suspects are taken to court.
A Nigerian national deported from Kenya four months ago is expected in court today after he was arrested in a raid in which 400 sachets of heroin were recovered in Nairobi.
Mr Emmanuel Peter was arrested alongside a Kenyan woman at Greenfields estate, Donholm after officers raided a home on Friday night.
The Nigerian was among foreigners who were flown out of Kenya in June following a directive by President Kenyatta to kick drug barons out of the country.
Controversial Nigerian businessman Anthony Chinedu was the most known among the foreigners deported.
CRACKDOWN
Head of anti-narcotics police unit Hamisi Massa said further tests on the drugs would be conducted by the government chemist before the suspects are taken to court.
"Our teams were conducting surveillance before and it led them to the house. The woman was also arrested. He was on of those who had been deported earlier. About 425 sachets of heroin were found in the house," said Dr Massa.
The arrest came amid reports that a number of deportees had sneaked back into the country.
An immigration official, Mr Edward Kabiu Njau has also being charged with allowing back prohibited immigrant Anaeke Chimenze, who was among the deportees.
The Nigerians were deported on June 3, but the move sparked a diplomatic row between Kenya and Nigeria.
