The security situation is quite wanting in Kenya.
The heated arguments from parliament, and the various statements from different security personnel only helps to explain security lapses on our security systems.
From Suguta valley,Eastleigh and Garrisa battle fronts, one wonders whether the countries Security committee is briefed by the apparatus - local security committees in liason with NSIS from where appropriate action is taken.
24 of the 40 plus police officers who were gunned down at Suguta have so far been identified as per latest reports. Its disturbing that a police officer made a call from Suguta valley that he was still a life though had a broken leg. With 60 degrees raging temperatures one can imagine the dehydration ! Some survivors complained that senior officers ignored them - no wonder it was freshers who were sent to deal with hardened bandits .
Its time we lock our security patrons in a room for one week from where they can come up with response mechanisms to check future scenarios that may emerge.
