Tanzania is one of the developing country in the world, technological activities are much needed for the country to achieve development fast and rapidly. In Tanzania telecommunication technology is one of the technology needed to smoothen development activities in all other sectors, So far in Tanzania there are five major Telecommunication companies, but among the all five companies just only one company which is Tanzania Telecommunication Company Limited (TTCL) is owned by the government, and the remain company are owned by the investors (foreigners).
This government company, TTCL formerly it was providing service in Landline (wired) communication system but now it is in the process of undergoing changes from the former system to wireless and broadband telecommunication system, in that transformation skilled people in the field of wireless and broadband telecommunication System are much needed to put the only government institution in the good position as well as to compete with the investors so as to let them lower their costs in providing services to the citizen in the country. For a company to change from landline to wireless communication system it needs new people with new skills to the new technological changes, therefore I'm applying for the masters at right time for my country's development
On my return from my studies, when given a chance I will use all my effort to make sure that the skills and knowledge I got is fully utilized in the sector, I will put much effort in using all technical skills I'm expecting to gain, and be among the people developing a country . UK is one of the developed country therefore the way they work and deals with things in the telecommunication field will be quite different from the way we do, therefore with new ideas, knowledge and skills which obtained from UK I will be able to be among the people bringing changes to my home country company.
Stabilizing government Telecommunication Institution will help the Telecommunication company to grow and spread even to the neighboring countries which will raise the government total income from telecommunication sectors, the income received from the sector will be useful to other development sectors of the country,
As per the course modules found in the University of Kent prospectus, University of Kent is the best place for my career development since at this University the course is focusing on both fixed and wireless system as well as Networking therefore it acts as a bridge to me for current and next generation Mobile Communication
