Friends,
The 2nd Consultative Forum on Waste Management is a very deliberate move to help identify what we need to do as a People and as a Country towards piloting the process of Separation of Waste at Source. We are all agreed that the management of waste, garbage and litter has become out of reach for many of our Councils and as such, we must all join in and help sort the problem as our Transformative Agenda for Kenya as we approach 50.
The Bible and our Constitution supports us on this. I do not know what the Hindu Guitar and the Qur'an says about Cleanliness and Clean Neighbourhoods.
The Teams that have confirmed participation will be tasked with generating ideas that can move this process forward; what we can all do as a People to ensure that we live in Clean Neighbourhoods. The Teams will meet with Policy and Decision Makers from Government, and their inputs and suggestions will help drive this campaign into 2013, the Year Kenya will be celebrating 50 Years of Independence.
We can confirm that the Minister for Education Hon Mutula Kilonzo will open the 2nd Session at 2pm while the Minister for Nairobi Metropolitan Development Hon Jamleck Kamau will close the 2nd Session at 4.30pm.
